Wikipedia Event!

Why museums are taking to Wikipedia

Still wondering about why and how?
Nearly 600 museums in the UK use wikipedia as a way of getting more exposure for their collections, buildings up a wider volunteer base and gathering more and more expertise and audience participation.
This event shows how some museums in the West Midlands have started to take this free resource more seriously. Over the last two years the West Midlands MDOs have been encouraging museums to build pages, run ‘backstage’ events and exploit all the benefits of this massive phenomenon. If you’re still unsure of the why or how, come along and hear what’s involved and how you can plan to make the most of the 38million wikipedians out there.
Monday 4th March, Black Country Living Museum, 1.30pm to 4.30 pm
