Invitation to Tender
UK, England, Hartlebury nr. Kidderminster
Museums Worcestershire is looking for a heritage learning consultant to assist with the development of a new community object loans service. Following a fire in October 2010 that devastated our current service we are looking to develop a bigger offer in partnership with other museums and arts providers within the county.
The vision for The Phoenix Project is to develop a community loans service in the broadest sense that offers a variety of arts and museum/heritage resources to current and new audiences, drawing on and incorporating the skills and resources of new partners. Resources available can be informed by consultation with current service users, members of the public and potential partners.
Alongside this, we also wish to:
v Revisit the costings of the service, including the collection/delivery offer, membership schemes and charging policy to ensure that we are delivering a sustainable service for the best value and able react positively to changing circumstances and user requirements.
v Source new and replacement items to ensure the continued operation of our current loans service
v Identify opportunities to develop facilitated outreach activities linked to newly developed resources in collaboration with partners
v Identify opportunities to develop a broader range of learning resources related to the project and our partners, to potentially include costumed role-plays, trails (utilising social media and other mobile technologies), on-line resources and the commissioning of other resources.
We would in the first instance, like to see initial responses to suggested aims and outcomes plus:
- An outline of how would you begin undertaking the scoping/consultation exercise
- Given the inclusive nature of our thinking and linking in to current central and local government/health care initiatives/issues – suggest potential partners and provide supporting evidence
- Outline avenues for match funding
- Suggest a title and marketing angle for the new service
Funding has been secured for the development of this project in 2 stages:
- Stage 1: Scoping and Business planning – Jan-March 2013
- Stage 2: Development and Implementation – March-July 2013
The consultant is requested to work to the fixed price budget below focusing on Stage 1 only. An opportunity to apply for Stage 2 will be released in February 2012.
